Welcome to the Solaris RPG website and forum community. This site is dedicated to the ongoing development of the text-based role playing game Solaris RPG which has been an ongoing project since 1996. The game is actively played through chatrooms as well as passively played through the forum community. Participating in Solaris RPG is somewhat like working with others on a collaborative story. Each player has a role in the gameworld and the more involved they choose to be the greater their role in the game will be. We try to focus on mature and literate gameplay to provide a creative outlet for all players involved.

We welcome all those interested, from those completely new to the idea and those who are intermediate or even advanced in the art of role playing. The game world of Solaris RPG is always evolving and growing, and the more involved a player is the more important their role in the game world becomes. This eventually leads to players improving upon and adding to the game world in their own way. Solaris RPG has nineteen character races to choose from, more than twenty different character job classes, over forty game world areas, and more than forty unique quests available. Solaris RPG is always expanding and growing so there will always be new content available.

Getting started...

1. Creation - After familiarizing yourself with the way the game works you should create a character. There will be several pages of information followed by a simple form. Submit your character and register on the forums using the characters first name. (Registering on the forums directly after submitting a character is recommended for a quick acceptance, especially if you make a post introducing your character.) After you have registered on the forums and your character has been approved it will appear here within 24 hours. You should be aware that Solaris RPG is a somewhat private game and every submission is checked personally by a staff member. Characters who have not been registered on the forums will not be accepted. Communication is key here.

2. Communication - The second step is to register the same name you used on the forums with the chatrooms. This does not require validation and is a very simple process. We keep the chatroom registration seperate of the forums because players usually make multiple characters and prefer logging in seperately sometimes. If you're having trouble finding another character to role play with wait for a scheduled RP night in the chats.
