Item, Weapon, and Armor Information
Armor:
Vigilius – This armor is made of many articulated plates of a flexible composite material, similar to Kevlar, fastened into place by a plethora of tough leather straps. This makes it very powerful in protecting against all types of physical blows and does little to inhibit the wearer’s movement. It is perfectly molded to fit Merenwen’s body, as it was the suit of armor that was crafted specifically for her when she gained the rank of captain in her host. Its deep violet color contrasts heavily with her sisters’ silver plate. In Leralonde, the commanders are not afraid of standing out in the battlefield.
This armor is made of multiple sections. The main section of the armor is the torso piece that reaches from the neck to below the waist, front and back, and includes shoulder protection. A loop of leather used to hold Valentine is attached to her belt at the right hip and from under the belt hangs a decorative cloth skirt colored to match her plate that hangs down a little over halfway to her knees. Armored gauntlets cover the backs of her hands up to her elbows, and greaves with boots, made of very small articulated parts to give full ankle and foot mobility, protect her from the knees down. (Class: Medium)
Primary Weapon:
Valentine – This long sword was originally a ceremonial piece. It had a handle with golden designs, a hilt with wings of gold, and a pressed, flimsy blade. Since then, the wings have been removed, but the gaudy handle is still relatively intact. The blade has been replaced some time ago by a battle ready folded straight blade. It is approximately twice the length of Merenwen’s forearm; one edge is sharp enough to cut a tomato, while the other edge is serrated and can saw through the bones of gargoyles. The blade is highly light reflective and Merenwen can easily use this fact in open areas to catch sunlight or moonlight to be used to try to blind or distract her opponent. It is claimed that when this blade cuts through the air, it whistles with praises to the Enlightened Sisters. (Class: Medium)
Other Items:
Pius – This is an extraordinary shield that Merenwen looted from a defeated captain of an opposing army. The shield itself is made of force, contained by a small disc of metal about the size of a quarter that she had affixed to her right bracer, near the elbow. When invoked, a concave shell of swirling lights appears which is approximately 40 inches in diameter, centered at the small disc. Because of the magical nature of the protective barrier, the shield is weightless and will not throw off her balance. When struck in combat, the swirling lights will flow to one specific point and form a physical barrier against the oncoming strike, but Merenwen can chose to let some objects pass through the shield as if it were merely air. She can hold this shield of force close to her face and peer through the swirling lights. When she does, she is able to look past false images, illusions, and other visual tricks and see through concealing effects, such as fog, pitch blackness, and extreme light. This does not give Merenwen the ability to see while blind or when her eyes otherwise cease to function due to internal influences. Due to the technological nature of this shield, it must be upgraded by a scientist instead of a blacksmith.
Temple Cloak – This is a cloak that covers the entire body and is complete with a draping hood. It is colored a deep violet, identical to the color of her armor. It provides no protection against swords in battle or even against the cold. It was a ceremonial piece Merenwen brought from the temple on her way out of her village to follow those responsible for the death of her people and husband. The cloak is held closed near the neck by a silver clasp with an intricate octagonal design, the symbol of the Leotan.
Runes:
Bronze Rune – This rune gives its wielder the passive ability to gain an extra 10% to the amount of credits earned when completing a quest. This bonus does not stack with other runes.

Special Ability Information
Level 5 Ability:
Flawless – Through her devout prayer and devotion to her city of Leralonde, Merenwen’s body has become an avatar of divine strengths. Many of her people said that she was one step away from perfection. Others might have argued that she was closer. Her body and soul instantly reject imperfections. Her skin will close over wounds to prevent bleeding and her tissue will regenerate to prevent burning or bruising. Her bloodstream immediately kicks back intruding infections or venoms. And she will never tire physically or mentally – not by natural or unnatural means. None of these effects heal or reduce damage taken, though in some cases, it might protect against ongoing effects (like poisons). The only tarnishes on her are the six marks on her body which represent her goddesses, but she keeps these well hidden. (Passive Ability)
Level 15 Ability:
Force Turning – The Daughters of Jin chose Merenwen to be a vessel of faith and a vassal of humanity. Their contributions to her safety take the form of a shield in combat. Whenever Merenwen takes damage from a magical source, she gains defenses against that energy or elemental attack, increasing her energy or elemental damage reduction by 10% against that specific force. This bonus is not applied until after the damage is calculated. This protection can encompass all types of energy and all elements simultaneously if Merenwen is being bombarded by such a wide range of attacks, but this shield disappears when the battle ends. (Reaction Ability)
Level 25 Ability:
Righteous Anger – The Daughters of Jal chose Merenwen to be a beacon of their virtues. In order to keep her as the winner of any conflict, they infuse her with righteous anger in the heat of battle. If an opponent dodges or deflects a melee attack made with Valentine, it lights up with magical potency, increasing the damage dealt from the next attack by 10%. If the weapon is dodged or deflected again, this bonus damage increases by an additional 10%, and will continue to grow in power until it has reached a bonus damage of 50%. At this point, the blade flares with divine purpose and the next connecting blow can (if Merenwen chooses) strike against the opponent’s energy damage reduction with this devastating bonus to damage. At full power, each of Merenwen’s strikes with Valentine count Righteous Anger as an active attack, therefore she cannot use any other perk or ability with a fully charged Valentine. Any time that Merenwen makes a successful strike with Valentine, its bonus damage will be reset to 0%. This bonus can continue to grow and be reset as many times as the battle has dodges and hits. Merenwen cannot miss or allow her strike to be intentionally parried or countered in order to gain this effect. (Passive Ability)

Background Information
Merenwen’s past…
Captain Rosy Red spent her life as a warrior for the Temple of Leralonde, protecting it with her very life so that her people could live and worship as they pleased. She was the strongest and the greatest of the warriors that her people have ever seen, and any that have ever come close to her skill were trained by her hand. Even off the field, she was still a brilliant tactician and diplomat.
While her martial skills and mind were praised by the women of the temple, the men in the factories praised her for her outer appearance. Rosy Red is perfectly molded with fair skin, which always seems unscarred, despite the wounds she receives on the battle field. Her hair is a beautiful and rare crimson. Every step she takes is fluid and graceful. Her heart, though, belonged to a young elf that held a seat in the High Council of the temple as a Leotan, a wizard in her culture.
On Rosy Red’s wedding night, her home was attacked by a mysterious enemy army that none of them had encountered or even heard of before. Their numbers crashed upon the temple as waves of death. Her sisters fell with every wave and after almost an entire day of fighting, the captain’s forces could not defend themselves any longer. The enemy flowed through her ranks and razed the temple and the surrounding city.
Rosy Red fell during the battle, but the wounds did not take her life. The enemy left Leralonde as quickly as they arrived, presumably unknowing that they had left one survivor. It took days to tend to her own wounds, weeks to heal her body, and months before she could find their trail. However, when she attempted to follow her sworn enemy, she became lost and somehow found herself on a completely new world, similar to her own, called Solaris.
Merenwen’s present situation…
Every so often in Leralonde, someone would be found with a mark on the left side of her body, either the hand, the shoulder blade, or the thigh. These are the marks of the Sisters of Light (Bonii, Ignit, and Hadis, respectively). These are the respected sisters and those who are chosen and receive the mark from one of these sisters becomes a high priestess. Also in Leralonde, people might come across a mark on the right side of her body, mirroring the positions of the Enlightened Sisters. These are the marks of the Sisters of Blight (Potan, Luceus, and Elan, respectively). These marks would be hidden, as those “blessed” by the Blighted Sisters were excommunicated. When Merenwen tended to her wounds from her people’s final battle, she discovered all six of these marks on her body – something that could never happen. It was then that she began to realize that she was the only faithful child left. Regardless of the fact that a stranger would not know the meaning of these markings, she still keeps them a secret under her gloves, armor, and what she claims to be wound wrappings around her thighs.
Although she is heartbroken over the genocide of her race and the death of her beloved, Merenwen is, has been, and always will be a survivor. Even in her position, she remembers her years of diplomatic and tactical work and vows to never again lose her focus in the heat of battle.
