It is unknown to the origins of these average sized creatures, but when Zabolus Hautakammio ventured into the Orkavian Mine, and retrieved the Infernal Crystal, to be put in the center of Verbannen, these imps chased the demon as far as they could within the confines of their caverns. After their easy defeat, the Imps quickly moved to one of their many exits, and followed their crystal as best they could. When they finally came upon their crystal, it was planted within the town of Verbannen. Taking this as one of their long forgotten prophecies as coming true, the Infernal Imps quickly began taking home within Verbannen, vowing to protect it with their lives. The creatures only come out at night, quickly repairing any damages done to their new home, and spend most of their time within the Orkavian Mine, keeping it dug out and the Processing Center well stocked. Their usefulness may really never be realized until the time comes for them to pull together and protect the small town from any un-welcomed guests. Showing a slight allegiance to Zabolus, and putting aside the slight savagery he had shown when taking their crystal, the Infernal Imps have solidified their place in the quickly growing Verbannen history.
Standing at a mere 4'5" tall, these small humanoids more than make up for their size, in sheer power, and prowess with Infernal Energy. Having lived alongside the Infernal Crystal for an unknown amount of centuries, they quickly learned to master its energy, even using it to heal themselves and others. The Infernal Imps have become so adept to the energy, that it appears to be completely useless against them, and their only apparent weakness comes from any source of light. Having lived among the earth and stone for so long, has equipped them with a vast amount of stone related magics, allowing them to easily meld into the ground, only to reappear double the average distance away. And even when the time comes that they have seemingly used up all of their controllable energy, and they are too far away from their Infernal Crystal to recharge themselves, the small Imps are armed with several rows of sharp front teeth, but severely strong molars and jaws. And all though their hands are small, and claws extremely sharp from a lifetime of dragging them along rocks, they possess small webbing between their triceps and ribs, allowing them to glide for extremely short distances. Feeling more at home in the caverns, and the surrounding forests, these creatures have never been seen any further south of the river that feeds Verbannen its water. But some may have learned long ago to adapt to life outside of the caves, that much is unknown. Although these creatures mainly communicate to each other through shrieks and clicks, they have the innate ability to speak, seemingly telepathically, to anyone capable to wielding Infernal energy. Although they are not much for companionship, for they seek comfort from each other, a few have been seen following the wielders of Infernal Energy. Sticking alongside them, either if they appeared to be gods to the Imps, or the Imps simply admired their uses of Infernal Energy, it is unknown, but the Imps have been known to teach the warriors a few things, and vice versa. |
