Not very much is known about Eather, other than the fact that it comes from a different plane of existence. There are several realms that make up the Nomaverse that lay on top of each other, like a stack of plates in the cupboard. These realms constantly shift around and occasionally, can intersect with each other, allowing certain beings to pass (sometimes accidentally) from one layer to the other. Eatherlings from the Eather Realm, are one such being. The Realm itself is composed entirely of this blue and white energy that can seep through passageways between the planes. This is normally dangerous and is the center for a huge cross-culture running joke, wherein whenever some unexplained catastrophic event occurs, such as the sudden destruction of an entire galaxy, those unaffected may jovially explain that a small amount of uncontained Eather energy must have entered there from its home realm. Whether or not such a thing could occur is speculation, as it is a rather difficult theory to test. When Eather energy enters into this realm on Solaris, it is immediately bombarded by BTMs that are able to contain its power somewhat. These traces of energy will either be destroyed or will learn to coexist with these mechanical constructs to become an Eatherling changeling. Again, it is unknown if this energy came into our realm with a consciousness or if the energy’s willingness to survive manifested one; Eatherlings themselves are unreliable to answer, as their bias toward the superiority of their species may lead them to fallacy. Only these beings may control this energy and it is extremely corrosive upon contact. |
