History on Planet Solaris
Well after the Second Flux the world of Solaris was left as a forsaken wasteland. The remaining inhabitants all gathered into various factions. Paladins of Solaris took on a new view of the world, typically protecting the weaker individuals and their allies in the field. The Union of Order rose to power in Southern Central Solaris many paladins joined their cause. After gaining enough power and prowess, they took on a new name, the Avengers. Much like the paladins they evolved from, the avenger is a dedicated and truly righteous knight. They are also capable of wielding clerical magics, much like the paladin. Avengers also specialize in the use of powerful defensive spells to protect themselves and their allies. While the avengers originally originated in the service of the Union of Order and Castle Elmore, over time some of them began to leave the Union to go off on their own... and others actually joined the darker side. Those who fell from the light continue to use their old spells and methods, but are not always as “righteous” as they once were.

Special Capabilities
Capability 1:
Empowering Shield - The avenger may use an action to activate a shield upon an ally within 50 feet. This effect persists as long as the avenger wills; dispelling the shield is instantaneous but must be done on the avenger’s turn. If the avenger falls in battle, all shields will immediately disappear. The recipient of the shield increases all damage dealt by 25% and cannot have his base damage cut in half. The avenger may only have one Empowering Shield active at a time, but he may activate and deactivate them as many times as he likes during a battle. No target may be subject to multiple shields, not even from multiple avengers. (Action Ability)
Capability 2:
Sacrificial Shield - The avenger may use an action to activate a shield upon an ally within 50 feet. This effect persists as long as the avenger wills; dispelling the shield is instantaneous but must be done on the avenger’s turn. If the avenger falls in battle, all shields will immediately disappear. Any time that the protected ally takes force damage, the avenger takes the damage instead, using his damage reduction values to calculate mitigated damage. This shield provides no protection against physical attacks. If an attack against a protected ally reduces the avenger to zero or fewer health points, the attack that kills the avenger will not deal damage to the protected, even if it was overkill. The avenger may only have one Sacrificial Shield active at a time, but he may activate and deactivate them as many times as he likes during a battle. No target may be subject to multiple shields, not even from multiple avengers. (Action Ability)
Capability 3:
Sanctifying Shield - The avenger may use an action to activate a shield upon himself or an ally within 50 feet. This effect persists as long as the avenger wills; dispelling the shield is instantaneous but must be done on the avenger’s turn. If the avenger falls in battle, all shields will immediately disappear. In any turn that the shielded character takes no action, he is instantly healed for an amount equal to the avenger’s Mind or Spirit SVS, whichever is greater. The avenger may only have one Sanctifying Shield active at a time, but he may activate and deactivate them as many times as he likes during a battle. No target may be subject to multiple shields, not even from multiple avengers. (Action Ability)
Capability 4:
Vengeful Shield - The avenger may use an action to activate a shield upon himself or an ally within 50 feet. This effect persists as long as the avenger wills; dispelling the shield is instantaneous but must be done on the avenger’s turn. If the avenger falls in battle, all shields will immediately disappear. The shield reflects damage dealt by melee physical attacks; 5% of the mitigated damage done is dealt to the attacker with no chance to dodge and with no damage reduction. This effect cannot happen twice to the same target in two consecutive turns. The avenger may only have one Vengeful Shield active at a time, but he may activate and deactivate them as many times as he likes during a battle. No target may be subject to multiple shields, not even from multiple avengers. (Action Ability)
Capability 5:
Disabling Shield - The avenger may use an action to activate a shield upon himself or an ally within 50 feet. This effect persists as long as the avenger wills; dispelling the shield is instantaneous but must be done on the avenger’s turn. If the avenger falls in battle, all shields will immediately disappear. Each time the shield is created, pick one of the following: Hit SVS, Dodge SVS, Physical Damage, Energy Damage, or Elemental Damage. All enemies within ten feet of the shielded ally suffer a penalty to the chosen stat. In the case of Hit or Dodge SVS, the penalty is 50%. In the case of one of the three damage types, the penalty is 25%. The avenger may only have one Disabling Shield active at a time, but he may activate and deactivate them as many times as he likes during a battle. No target may be subject to multiple shields, not even from multiple avengers. (Action Ability)
