Most people can understand the differences between the energy and elemental forces. Their subtle intricacies, from creation to application, have been studied and well-documented. The virtuosos, however, take this understanding to a brand new and incredibly dangerous level. Eschewing one of the types of forces allows these archmages to declare absolute dominance over the other, making them a deadly artist of their chosen profession.
Capability 1:
Force Specialization - A virtuoso must choose to be “energy-centric” or “elemental-centric”. This decision is as permanent as the choice to become a virtuoso and will affect all of his capabilities. An energy virtuoso gains a 100% bonus to VIT PVS. An elemental virtuoso gains a 100% bonus to WIS PVS. (Passive Ability)
Capability 2:
Eschew - An energy virtuoso has a WIS PVS of zero (even though it is less than his racial wisdom) which cannot be improved and gains a bonus to his racial vitality equal to that of his removed WIS PVS. He will have an energy potency of 1.4 and is only capable of making energy attacks of his favored energy or energies. He will have an elemental potency of 0.0 which cannot be increased in any way – he will be unable to make any elemental attack or use any elemental perk and he will have his favored element changed to “none”.

An elemental virtuoso has a VIT PVS of zero (even though it is less than his racial vitality) which cannot be improved and gains a bonus to his racial wisdom equal to that of his removed VIT PVS. He will have an elemental potency of 1.40 and is only capable of making elemental attacks of his favored element or elements; he cannot use bordering elements. He will have an energy potency of 0.00 which cannot be increased in any way – he will be unable to make any energy attack or utilize any energy burn effect and he will have his favored energy changed to “none”. (Passive Ability)
Capability 3:
Potent - If an energy virtuoso has a bonus wisdom maxed out at 250%, he increases his energy potency by 0.10 and may choose a second favored energy. He may make energy attacks as normal with his second energy and it will include any energy burn effect, if applicable.

If an elemental virtuoso has a bonus vitality maxed out at 250%, he increases his elemental potency by 0.10 and may choose a second favored element. He may make elemental attacks as normal with his second element and gains access to the second’s elemental perks, if applicable. (Passive Ability)
Capability 4:
Defenseless - If an energy virtuoso has a permanent or temporary bonus to elemental damage reduction, it is reduced to zero. Any effect that would allow a character to use his physical or elemental damage reduction in place of his energy damage reduction cannot be used against an energy virtuoso’s attacks. When he makes an energy attack, he may choose to have the attack penetrate the target’s defenses, acting as if his energy damage reduction is 0% - if he does this, he cannot make an energy attack on his following turn.

Capability 5:
Overload - If any virtuoso takes physical damage from any target, he deals half base damage that turn. If an energy virtuoso takes energy damage from a hostile target, he doubles his base energy damage that turn. An energy virtuoso cannot willingly inflict an attack upon himself or have an ally attack him just to gain this benefit.
