The League of Watchers are an incredibly powerful group of warriors that were chosen to do the bidding of “Obel’jon." These beings have an astounding amount of knowledge about the Nomaverse, its galaxies, the inhabitants, etc. The Watchers are a chosen few, the most knowledgeable, wisest, and powerful of their selected worlds. Watchers are “gifted” with the task, or job, of being an observer of worlds and the inhabitants of them, and with it some incredible abilities.
After receiving the gift of the Watcher it is believed beings either begin to age very slowly or perhaps not at all. It has been observed that over time those who become Watchers tend to take on a pale complexion, and oddly enough, beings seem to become “stretched” over time. The easiest way to describe this “stretching” characteristic is that all those who become Watchers tend to grow in height several inches, their body thins, and becomes very slender although fit. It is believed that the mysterious energy gifted to them is the cause of this. Other physical changes include lightly glowing white, blue, or gray eyes. It is against their nature to be seen, however in some cases a Watcher can become very involved with the lives of lesser beings. This has been documented several times throughout Solarian history. There are many Watchers throughout the Nomaverse but they usually stay well away from one another unless they hold strong family ties or a very strong friendship. Watchers are surprisingly territorial, and typically claim a planet as their point of observance and stick to the same world for many centuries, reporting in their findings whenever required. Watchers have the ability to lightly adjust time and space when necessary. This grants them a somewhat distant outlook on others as they do not perceive time from a linear perspective. This distancing effect only increases over time, and some of the eldest Watchers in existence have nearly slipped into their own little worlds completely, rarely, if ever seen. Watchers are unable to truly interfere with others existence in time. They are only capable of witnessing their own time, future and past, and only those who are very close to them. Watchers must have a very strong connection with someone to be able to see into their time line. The original trio of Watchers were given the ability by Obel'jon many millenniums ago and over time the group has grown to almost legendary status throughout the Nomaverse. Even though they are rarely seen, their numbers are actually quite vast. The Watchers of planet Solaris are very few however, as the inhabitants of this world tend to destroy one another long before achieving the necessary power to become a member of the society. Technically, for one to become a Watcher he or she must hold the status of Elder (level 100) in the world of Solaris. It is only at this point that he or she will be considered as a candidate. Only a current Watcher is capable of giving the energy to others, and the energy granted to the user can easily destroy those unable to fully handle it. New Watchers are always observed long before being considered for selection. |

Capability 1:Temporal Shift - The watcher can see into his immediate future and discern a location he will have just moved to. An outside observer will see the watcher’s body seem to move along a path, like he were walking but his body stands still, and it happens in the blink of an eye. This instantaneous shift can move the watcher anywhere from several inches all the way up to 50 feet or more and it can be used along with another action. In combat, it can be used only three times per battle, but outside of combat, it can be used by the watcher as often as he wishes in order to display his rank either as a parlor trick or as a sign of his power. (Action Ability) Capability 2:Temporal Existence - Watchers have the ability to jump to any point of their own existence in time. The laws of the League of Watchers prevent them from truly manipulating their own time line, but some Watchers exploit loopholes in the law, using this ability to exist at the same time as themselves for short periods. This fact should be taken into careful consideration before engaging in battle with one. For very brief periods of time, a Watcher may summon what would seem to be an alternate version of himself just long enough to attack from multiple directions at the same time. This allows the Watcher to essentially have two characters that each take a single round; a character would have to make avoidance rolls for both targets, just as if he were outnumbered on the battlefield. The logic behind this technique are a bit fuzzy, but it can prove to be quite devastating to an enemy during a battle. It is believed that the alternate version may come from a future or past timeline, after or before the battle even started. It can never be certain however, as Watchers have the ability to move freely within their own existence in time. This technique can only be used three times per battle. (Action Ability) Capability 3:Temporal Manipulation - This ability allows a Watcher to manipulate his own, current, standing in the presence of time. This capability affects only himself, creating an incredible burst of speed, or what would appear to be. To the watcher, enacting this ability causes everything around him to stop, or slow to a crawl. To an outside observer, he may suddenly explode in a flurry of blinding speed, or disappear from sight altogether. This capability allows for an incredible 500% bonus to Hit PVS for a single action or an incredible 500% bonus to Dodge PVS for a single reaction. This technique can only be used three times per battle. (Passive Ability) Capability 4:Temporal Reversal - Because of their uncanny ability to control time and space, Watchers are equipped with the ability to stop a battle, reverse time, and basically undo the last round. Think you've dealt the finishing blow? Not quite, even during their fall a Watcher can undo the previous turn and make an attempt to change the past. To onlookers outside the battle, the movements of both parties (the Watcher and attacker) would be seen suddenly reversing to a previous moment. This reversal is declared at the beginning of the Watcher’s turn and essentially nullifies everything that happened since the beginning of his last turn; then he as the opportunity to “re-take” his last turn, now knowing the consequences of his actions. This is the most powerful and the most taxing technique in a watcher’s arsenal, and as such, performing a Temporal Reversal uses up one use of both Temporal Existence and Temporal Manipulation; if either of those capabilities are out of uses, then the watcher cannot perform Temporal Reversal. (Reaction Ability) Capability 5:Temporal Mastery - This gives the Watcher full control over his own destiny and time that directly concerns him. He is completely immune to all abilities and capabilities that would alter his timeline, including those from other watchers – a watcher may not use Temporal Existence, Manipulation, or Reversal on another of his kind. This makes watchers incapable of being slowed and stopped within a battle, among other things. (Passive Ability) |
