Solaris RPG
This guide is for players that have a character that has reached a level where it can gain a new ability. It is simply a list of things players should remember when creating a characters new ability. Please don’t argue with staff members over this list as it is here to help prevent as many problems as possible and make the submission of new abilities as efficient as possible.

Things new abilities can and cannot do...

  • Abilities must not affect other characters directly, as in specifically targeting another character or more specifically one of his abilities.

  • Abilities must be easily classifiable as either an offensive, defensive, or passive ability. Not a mixture of the three.

  • Abilities cannot be a copy of other character's abilities, racials, elemental perks, energy burns, job class capabilities, etc. If it comes down to it, a staff member will decide if the ability it acceptable or not. If not, it will have to be rewritten.

  • Descriptions for abilities must have sufficient detail. Be sure to include at least one hundred words of description. The longer the description the better, in most cases. In most situations we've found a decently descriptive paragraph or two works fine.

  • Abilities must not have multiple sub-abilities listed after the main ability. Each ability takes an ability slot on a character's ten abilities at level 100. New ability submissions must clearly be identifiable as a single ability.

  • Abilities must be deemed acceptable by either a staff member or an administrator. There will be absolutely no arguing if a staff member or an administrator says that your ability is no good. Simply rewrite it so it works and move on.

  • Abilities must not permanently alter another character, his items, weapons, or armors.

We reserve the right to edit this list at any time without notice. However, we will always try to let everyone know when rule changes are made to any section of the rules.
