History in Solaris
Eatherlings are a mysterious, ancient, and above all a very rare race that many consider to be nothing more than legend- even after meeting one. Eatherlings are metaphysical, non-corporeal shapeshifters capable of taking on any form they can imagine. The first (recorded) Eatherling to come to Solaris was Lum Therion. Since then, only one other Eatherling has come to Solaris, an indication of how rare and spread out these creatures are- and how hard it is to recognize one for what it really is. Eatherlings are not spoken of in any of the pre-flux historical records of Solaris, but that is not unexpected, as Eatherlings are masters of hiding in plain sight.
Although the typical Eatherling modus operandi is study the culture from the point of a lower life form, eventually live in the culture as a member of the race, and then ascend and make an appearance as one of the beings spoken of in the races mythology, Eatherlings on Solaris are more drawn to the warrior culture and rugged lifestyle than the intricate creation myths of Solarians and other races on the planet. Eatherlings have many advantages over the other races of Solaris due to their shapeshifting abilities and naturally energetic makeup among other characteristics. However, Eatherlings tend to be feared and mistrusted among many specifically for these characteristics. Also, many find the immortal, non-corporeal beings hard to relate to, and often the life an Eatherling is both long and friendless, two very bad traits that are even worse when mixed. Because of this, many Eatherlings do not remain in Solaris long.

Racial Abilities
Racial Ability 1:
Shapeshift - Eatherlings are a shape shifting race, able to manipulate their bodies into a multitude of different forms. An eatherling may take an action to reshape himself into any animal he has been in contact with before - he does not gain any special abilities unique to that race, but may use certain capabilities having to do with that creature’s physiology, such as flying when in the form of a winged creature. An eatherling may only transform into a creature that is greater than one-quarter his size and smaller than four times his size. (Action Ability)
Racial Ability 2:
Eather Energy – An eatherling must pick eather energy as his favored energy and he gains a 0.05 bonus to energy potency. (Passive Ability)
Racial Ability 3:
Truform – Once per battle, an eatherling can revert into his Trueform, an intangible cloud of eather energy. While in this form, he becomes immune to physical damage and gains a 10% bonus to elemental damage reduction; however, he is only able to make eather energy attacks. The eatherling gains a 50% bonus to Hit SVS when making attacks against any foe that is within the eather cloud. He retains this form for up to five turns and if he deals damage while in this form, he regenerates HP equal to 25% of his Health SVS upon reverting back to normal. (Action Ability)
